iLove It: Spice Storage Inspiration

{source}
Since I’m tackling my spices these days, I decided to post some really nice ideas that have inspired me to organize my spices.

First of all, we hate this (the image below). And let’s admit, we have all been through (or maybe still going through) this phase. So I'm just going to swim right into the awesome ideas for how to organize spices.

Masala Dabba (Indian Spice Box)
Use this to keep frequently used items in one box. I use it for salt, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin seed, mango powder, black cardamom and carom seeds. These are the seven things that I use really frequently and this masala dabba saves my time while cooking.

Re-use Old Jam Jars
I love to store my spice in clear glass jars for two reasons. One it looks pretty, two the jar stays shiny compared to plastic containers. The plastic containers get frosted by time.

Labels
This is my favorite part of this whole organizing process. Mainly because labeling anything plays a huge role in keeping the space organized. And let me tell you, labeling your spices is a huge time saving trick while cooking. Also, it helps my husband on nights when he decides to cook dinner.

There are so many ways to label your spices. You can either download free printable spice labels to save money (who doesn't like free printable?...) or you can buy custom printable labels on etsy. I have recently created free printable spice label which you can find here.

Check out these nice printable spice labels I found online.

Free Prinatble Spice Labels #1

I have been having a lot of trouble in the kitchen lately, especially in identifying the spices. I store my spices in clear container so that I can see before I pick it. But then sometimes I get confused between two powder spices and use my nose to identify the right spice. I wonder this has ever happened with you too...

So I decided to label my spice containers to save my time and labeling my spice containers will also help my husband on nights when he decides to cook dinner. Like last night and I was there in the kitchen with him the whole time to guide him which spice was in which container.

Here is the free spice label I have created. Hope you like it.

If you find some spices missing or you want to add and delete some spices from this list or you want the color to be changed, you can go to my Etsy shop and get these labels customized as per your needs for $1.

Free Printable To-Do List

I’m so excited to share this new printable to-do list. I keep this inside my diary and sometimes in my planner. Because of its size, it fits in almost every diary and notepad.

This is so helpful to keep ALL the to-do things in one page.

I just hope you like it.
Cut it with either a cutter or a scissor after printing it out on A4 sheet. I prefer a scissor.

If you want to get this to-do list in a different size, you can visit my Etsy Shop.

Thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much for stopping by!

How to Re-use Old and Empty Small Glass Containers?

I don’t like to throw cute things into dustbin. My brain says: “you should not keep unnecessary things to stay organized.” And on the other hand my heart says: “don’t throw this away, this is so cute!”
So I pile anything cute in a box and go though it once in a week to re-use those items.

The other day, I bought these colorful paper clips.

But I didn’t like keeping theme in that ugly box.

I’m so happy that I didn’t throw this small empty container which used to contain my daydream, because this container was the perfect sized to keep those colorful paper clips.

So, I cleaned it with a tissue paper. And then...

Ta-da!

A before and after for you.
